About the event

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is proud to present the 10th edition of Voices – A Festival of Song, a celebration of vocal music to be held from 1 – 4 Dec 2022.

KASI performs a series of iconic classical crossover music popularised by singers such as Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman and Russell Watson, as well as composers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Rodgers Hammerstein. Their repertoire for the evening comprises widely regarded timeless classics with mainstream appeal and recognisable tunes.

KASI is a trio consisting of singers, Alice Cahya Putri and Keane Ong, as well as pianist, Sia Jie Xin.

Putri and Ong are graduates of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and have extensive opera performance experience. Ong is involved in Singapore's opera scene and recently portrayed the role of Ben in New Opera Singapore's (NOS) staging of Menotti's The Telephone. He also studied with American baritone William Sharp at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University for his master's degree in voice performance and pedagogy, receiving the George Castelle Memorial Award for voice. Alice performs frequently in Asia and Europe, singing with renowned orchestras as well as in recitals and opera. Having received a full scholarship to pursue her Master of Arts in Opera Performance at the University of Pécs in Hungary, she recently also made her debut as Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) under the supervision of Balász Kocsár, director of the Hungarian State Opera House.

Sia is a classical pianist who graduated from UCSI University Malaysia majoring in classical piano, along with minors in drum and cello. She enjoys collaborative work with various instrument line-ups and piano ensembles. In addition to her work in piano, she also enjoys singing in a choir, which has led her to compete in international choral competitions such as JS Fest, Rimini International Choral Competition, and Bali International Choir Festival in Indonesia.
